Kurt Retter has been a Partner since 2001. Working at Wolf Theiss for almost two decades, Kurt has practiced in various fields of regulatory law including: regulated industries (energy, telecommunications and rail), life sciences, insurance, banking and finance, data protection law,gambling law, environmental law, compliance or infrastructure projects. Acknowledging his frequent advice on data protection matters for clients of various industries, Legal 500 stated that he has „‘great subject matter expertise’ in Austrian and international data privacy law.“ He regularly gives internal and external presentations on new developments in this field. Prior to joining Wolf Theiss, he worked in the insurance industry, gathering valuable business experience as an assistant to the board of the Austrian subsidiaries of Allianz insurance, one of the world’s largest insurance groups. Holding degrees from Vienna University Law School and Yale Law School, Kurt started his professional career teaching constitutional and administrative law at the University of Vienna for five years. Currently he is the head of the firm’s regulatory team within the regulatory & procurement practice group.
